Building connections in a historic neighbourhood
Lietuvos Draudimas
The project for Lietuvos Draudimas in Vilnius prioritises community and the surrounding context of the neighbourhood. The new headquarters, along with three apartment buildings, are designed around a lush, green courtyard that promotes connection among residents and employees. By blending modern architecture with the historic charm of J. Basanavicius Street, the project creates inviting public spaces. A key focus for the project has been adapting the historic street scene to the design of the new buildings. The project was recognized as the Best Multifunctional Project in Lithuania 2024.
Steen Enrico Andersen, Senior Partner at PLHAB Lietuvos Draudimas wanted a modern, sustainable headquarters that fits into the surroundings of the historic J.Basanaviciaus Street close to the UNESCO preserved area. It has been important to create the new headquarters and the apartment buildings with a modern expression in balance with the surrounding historic buildings.
