Summary
Moving from city center to countryside
As part of a restructuring of their organisation, DLG wanted to move the location of its headquarters from the city center of Copenhagen to the countryside in Jutland, bringing it closer to the owners and strengthening its connection to the agricultural landscape.
Local roots and global outlook
DLG is a cooperative owned by 25,000 Danish farmers but has a global outlook. Of course, the design of the headquarters should reflect both the roots and the outlook.
Identity reflected in architecture and surroundings
PLH integrated DLG's headquarters into the natural landscape, using robust materials and open spaces to reflect its identity. The building consolidates various functions under one roof, providing a modern, transparent, and iconic structure resembling an axis of grain, visible from the Little Belt Bridge. The headquarters feature three wings that break down the building's volume, a green sedum roof, and large glass façades for transparency. The structure promotes natural light and offers panoramic views, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment which is key to bringing out the best in the people working there. The surroundings speak to the identity of DLG, offering a great experience for visitors.
