Summary

An ambition to be first movers within social sustainability

AP Pension and Nykredit wanted new headquarters that would establish them as attractive workplaces with a strong connection to the local community. For AP Pension and Nykredit, social sustainability is essential in all aspects, including the design of their headquarters.

New generations require work-life balance

Today, an attractive and sustainable workplace is one that offers value to the people working there as well as to the surroundings. To bring out the best in your employees, you need to provide resources that facilitate a balance between work and private life, as well as environments that inspire a sense of community and make a positive impact on the local community.

Attractive workspaces and a welcoming neighbor

Filled with bright, open spaces, the two joint headquarters were designed to inspire sharing and foster a sense of community at every opportunity. With a range of public facilities and spaces—including a fitness club on the first floor with harbor views, a shared pavilion for winter bathing, a kayak club with a communal sauna—all open to the public, along with a community kitchen, a rooftop garden overlooking the harbor, and a public café facing the park, the buildings go above and beyond in giving back to the local community.

The buildings are expected to achieve DGNB Gold and DGNB Diamond certifications for their sustainable solutions, architecture, and functionality.

What’s fantastic about the new headquarters is the ability to open the spaces to the public, driven by a genuine desire to invite people in, based on trust - the essential foundation of our Scandinavian society. We are proud to have had the opportunity to bring this vision to life. In addition to social sustainability, we have designed buildings with full flexibility, allowing for easy updates through both large and small adjustments to keep them modern, adding another very important layer of sustainability: durability over time.

We have designed buildings that will stand for many years to come – also for future occupants. The overall construction is crafted with cohesive materials that create a harmonious unity. To emphasize the individuality of each building, the materials and colors have been uniquely combined to give each structure its own distinct identity.
