A clear identity with connection to local environment

Regnemark waterworks

Client
HOFOR
Location
Regnemark, Denmark
Area
13,680 m²

The Regnemark waterworks project, designed by PLH in collaboration with HOFOR, emphasises sustainability and community value. Producing the most water in the country with its 1400 cubic metres per hour, the building is located in a natural setting near Køge å. The design minimises visual impact by using smaller units and incorporates recycled materials, creating a connection to the local environment. The integration of aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability not only enhances the surrounding area but also provides a welcoming atmosphere for employees and guests. PLH has, in collaboration with HOFOR, designed a design manual, that not only the Regnemark project was based on, but also the waterworks at Islev and Slangerup. The design manual ensures a consistent architectural identity across, allowing residents and visitors to easily recognise HOFOR's facilities.
