Summary

A flagship headquarters with a vision for community engagement

Nykredit required a headquarters that not only reflected its status as a leading financial institution but also embodied its commitment to fostering community ties. PLH responded with a vision that balances functionality, flexibility, and inclusivity, creating a workspace that supports modern work practices while inviting the public into shared spaces.

Designing for openness, flexibility, and connection

Through a deep understanding of Nykredit’s needs, PLH prioritized creating a headquarters that enhances well-being and collaboration. Key insights included the value of activity-based layouts, the integration of public functions to encourage openness, and the importance of zoning to balance vibrant interaction with focused work.

A dynamic, inclusive workplace for the future

Nykredit’s headquarters is designed as a six-story, double-winged structure featuring an iconic atrium that ensures visual and physical connectivity. Activity-based work zones cater to diverse needs, while strategically placed quiet areas enhance focus. Public-facing spaces, including a café and a restaurant that can occasionally be opened to host outward-facing public events, connect the building with the city, thereby fostering community engagement.

Nykredit’s headquarters is adjacent to AP Pension’s headquarters. The two buildings are connected by a shared building with additional office space and communal facilities, such as a fitness club and a community kitchen, which are used by both headquarters but are also open to the public.
