Designed as a headquarters for NNE, this building reaps all the potential from this sloped site in Søborg. The atrium building comprises four standard floors and a parterre level, which is exposed by the fall in terrain to become the arrival level with an entry towards the west. The atrium acts as the building’s hub and provides the framework for interaction, informal knowledge sharing and materialisation of common values. The building also utilizes the high basement, to provide an on-site multi-purpose sports hall and fitness centre for staff.

The floor of the atrium follows the slope of the terrain with a series of broad steps leading up to a first floor balcony which is used as an informal meeting place, lounge and touch-down workplace. The landscape-like floor plan connects the various functions of reception, canteen, café, meeting and balcony, in a varied yet coherent spatial flow.

Floors are fully flexible with a structural column grid, and predominant 18 metre depth. Stairs, toilets and technical shafts are gathered within cores at the corners, whilst smaller support rooms such as meeting, quiet and copy rooms are freely distributed to create comfortable neighbourhoods and subdivisions within the open office areas.
