PLH has qualified for the architectural design competition for Vordingborg City Hall – in a team with MOE and ETN Arkitekter.

Three teams out of 26 applicants have been chosen to compete in the architectural competition to design a new, flexible and sustainable city hall in Vordingborg, Denmark. The deadline for the competition is June 2020.

The new city hall in Vordingborg will be connected to the existing jobcentre and citizen service centre – thus, unifying the public facilities.

“We are very ambitions about the new building. It must be an inspiring and modern workplace for the employees. It must be a welcoming city hall for citizens and associations. It must be sustainable, and it must connect to its surroundings,”
states Michael Smed, Mayor for Vordingborg Municipality in the local newspaper, Vordingborg Avis.

The deadline for the design proposal is June 2020, and the construction is expected to begin no later than August 2021.

“It is a very competent field, which gives us great expectations to build a grand and functional new city hall on Valdemar's Square,” states Michael Smed, Mayor for Vordingborg Municipality in the local newspaper, Vordingborg Avis.

The two other qualified teams are:

Henning Larsen Architects and Rambøll.

Lundgaard & Tranberg Arkitekter with Jørgen Nielsen Engineering, SINUZ and Gade & Mortensen Akustik.
