Interior design is about creating spaces that bring out the best in people. By rooting our design in the identity, culture and visions of our clients, we ensure enduring solutions.

Creating spaces that bring out the best in people

Interior design shapes how we work, shop, learn, and live. The spaces we use daily reflect who we are and how we interact as a society.

At PLH, we believe interior design is not just about fulfilling functional requirements, but about enhancing the experiences of the people who use these spaces. It's about creating environments that inspire, nurture, and enrich lives. Spaces that bring out the best in people.

Designing for people, experiences, and culture

Our approach to interior design is deeply people-centered and holistic. Every project begins with understanding the people who will use the space. We look beyond the surface to explore how interior design can support behaviours, foster connections, and reflect shared values.

Interior design is much more than aesthetics. It’s about the spatial flow, acoustics, lighting, materiality, and atmosphere that come together to create a sense of place. From carefully chosen furniture to thoughtfully planned layouts, every element works to influence how people interact with a space and with each other – influencing the cultures that are nurtured in the spaces.

We take the time to understand our clients' unique challenges, uncover their aspirations, and unlock the hidden potential of their spaces. This allows us to create solutions that resonate deeply with the users while remaining true to the surrounding architectural and urban context.

Renewal and enduring design

As our lifestyles and ways of working are constantly evolving, we believe that that interior design must adapt to changing needs while prioritising sustainability.

In the past, interiors were refreshed far more frequently than the buildings they inhabited. Today, we advocate for a more thoughtful approach, focusing on durability, flexibility, and designs that stand the test of time.

Our designs include adaptable elements to accommodate diverse needs and future scenarios. By leveraging innovative, environmentally-friendly materials and techniques, we ensure that each project minimises waste and maximises value for people and the planet. Enduring interior design isn’t just about longevity; it’s about creating spaces that people love, care for, and feel proud of – spaces that become an integral part of their lives.

Fostering a sense of belonging, purpose and inspiration

When we move from outside to inside, we instinctively enjoy the safe shelter that it provides, and at the same time respond to how it looks, feels, sounds and smells.

“The magic of this interaction struck me as a child during a winter holiday. I’ll never forget the warm cosiness of an Austrian hotel room with its fluffy duvets and high beds, contrasted with the serene, echoing calm of a Florentine monastery with its terracotta floors and lofty ceilings. These experiences sparked a lifelong passion for interior design and its profound ability to move and connect us."
