PLH’s proposed knowledge center in the scenic Norwegian landscape near Stavanger, is a distinctive design that respects the site and puts fresh eyes on the beautiful surroundings, between sea and land. The project is intended as a simple building with three wings that reach out into the landscape and create the best environment for a multifunctional visitor center and museum. It is a building that conveys the story of people’s interaction with the sea, the maritime industry and the Coastal Authority’s history and business today. There is particular emphasis on forming spaces for diverse cultural events, such that the building can become a strong cultural hub for the area.
