Køge Bugt Freeway is the heaviest trafficked highway artery in Denmark, carrying an average of 100,000 vehicles per day. To address congestion problems, the six lanes extending 14 km south from the towns of Greve to Solrød S are being expanded to eight.

PLH is the design advisor on the project, which involves a wide range of civil works including the design of 7 new bridges and the widening of 9 existing bridges. PLH has developed a design manual for the infrastructure works, provided the architectural design for new bridges and underpasses, and designed custom solutions for extensions to underpasses, as well as support walls and the lighting concept for underpasses.
